Swimming- Reminder start Day 1 Term 4

Julie Bassett —

Whole school swimming lessons will be Weeks 1 and 2 in Term 4.

First lesson is day one Term 4.

Every class in the school will swim each day for 2 weeks = 10 lessons.

If your child is not an independent dresser now is a good time to encourage your child to dress and undress quickly and independently. Turn this into a daily holiday challenge. Timing this can make dressing and undressing more fun.

What to bring (daily):

  • Togs

  • Towel

  • Swim bag - preferably a supermarket reusable bag. Needs to fit all clothing including shoes.

  • Goggles (optional)

It is very important that all of your child’s items are clearly named.

Pioneer has confirmed and clarified that under level 2 Swimsafe Water Skills for Life lesson will go ahead with a few requirements.

1: Students arrive at the facility with swimwear on under their clothes.

2: Designated change areas will be available in change facilities for after the lesson.

3: Parent help to be at a minimum.

4: Parents/family are discouraged from coming just to watch. This helps to keep the gathering number down and the lessons to go ahead.

5: Equipment will be cleaned for each session.

6: Teachers, teacher aides and parent helpers will need to sign in using the Covid Tracer app.

Should we move to level 1, then parents/family members will be more than welcome.

If you have any queries please speak to your class teacher.

Ngā mihi,
