Message from the Acting Principal

Julie Bassett —

Nicky Horne

He mihi maioha ki a koutou katoa - Warm greetings to all.

As Denise indicated to you she is now on leave to take up her Woolf Fisher Fellowship which was awarded to her in 2020. This award recognises excellence in education. We are very proud of Denise who works incredibly hard to ensure that our school runs smoothly. We will look forward to all of the stories about her study and travels. Denise has assured us that she will send through a photo in her Harvard hoodie!

Congratulations once again to our tamariki who have participated and achieved success in their sporting competitions.

In the South West Zone basketball the boys team finished first and the girls team finished second. (see separate article for more details)

Our Cross Country team participated in the Canterbury Championships yesterday. Congratulations to Christian and Mario who finished in the top 5 and to our other 8 students who ran in very cold conditions at Ngā Puna Wai. (see separate article for more details)

SMART Assembly

On Friday 30 June, the last day of Term 2, there will SMART Assembly at 2pm.

Our SMART awards at the end of each term are chosen by students in each class who demonstrate our SMART values. Each child in the class is given one vote and asked to give a reason for their vote. These sentences are used to make up the comment on the awards.

Teacher SMART awards are given out at the end of the year assembly.

Reports and Reconnecting with Whānau Interviews.

On the last day of the term you will receive your child's report via the school APP and be emailed the information you need to book a Reconnect with Whānau Interview. These are on the 24th and 25th July.

These interviews are not the only time you can meet with the classroom teachers. Throughout the year you can make an interview anytime. Contact the teacher directly and make an appointment. This way you will get the teachers undivided attention!
