On September 13th the Somerfield year 5 and 6 choir went to Avonhead school, to practice for our big music festival performance.

On September 13th the Somerfield Year 5 and 6 choir went to Avonhead school, to practice for our big music festival performance. This will take place in term 4 at the town hall. This is the first time Somerfield school has participated in this performance and we are excited to be there.

There are about 8 schools from around the community.  It was fun because we had the chance to practice with the junior choir and the senior choir. We went through all the songs in the book and made adjustments to each of the songs. One of the teachers taught us The Funky Chicken and the Grand Old Duke Of York. They are some fun choir warm ups and they help get your voice warmed up. All the teachers from other schools were so nice and helped with different songs. The next time we will meet is at the real performance. I hope you can make it too!
