Message from the Tumuaki

Denise Torrey —

He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa - Warm greetings to all.

On Tuesday Waka Kōpapa and Tētē had a great session participating in Top Team team building activities. Thanks to the parent helpers who helped. Included are some great photos.

As we anticipate omicron cases are about to rise in our community and to ensure we minimise the impacts on learning due to isolating, we have moved our programmes around.  We have  rescheduled some activities and have put them towards the end of the year. This includes camps and our Aotearoa New Zealand Histories (ANZH) unit. We have planned, as part of this unit, the Place Based Trips we normally do and a ANZH week. This week was one we were wanting to have you, our whānau involved with, thus the shuffling. Lets hope we may be back to some semblance of order by the end of the year!

Sick children

Please keep sick children at home until they are better.

As of next week if your child is away for 2 days their teacher will email you to see if they are going to be away longer and if you would like the link to our workspaces. There will be no devices sent home at this stage or zooming. The workspaces are updated regularly.

When we have actual cases with isolating we will be in contact about devices or hardpacks of work. Whether we zoom or not will depend on the status of the staff who may also isolating.

We will be in touch with you along the way.

I'm grateful to those who are remembering to message us absences prior to 8:30am. Knowing where our tamariki are is a safety issue.

Teachers Only Day is Monday 28 February.
