Congratulations to Kellie Englefield who has been appointed to the Assistant Principals role at Somerfield Te Kura Wairepo. This role begins in 2021. We are looking forward to her contributions to the senior leadership team.

A few reminders

Thank you to those who have updated contact details. We also need copies of any court orders if they have been changed from the ones we currently have.

School is closed on Monday, 7 September (this Monday) for our Teachers Only Day.

Open Evening Wednesday, 9 September, 6pm if in Alert Level 1. If you know of anyone new to our zone who is intending on sending their child to Somerfield next year please let them know.

Board of Trustee Meeting Thursday 10 September, 6pm. This will go ahead even if we are in Alert Level 2 and social distancing will apply.

Disco Friday, 18 September only if in Alert Level 1. More information next week.

Health Consultation including Sexuality Education - Tuesday, 22 September, 6pm - this is to let you know the content and share the resources for what is going to be taught to all students in Week 1/2 next term. This will go ahead if we are in Alert Level 1 otherwise information will be posted on our website (it will still be posted after the meeting for those that can't make it but the meeting will give more details).

SMART ASSEMBLY 2pm, Friday 25 September this will only go ahead if we are in Alert Level 1.

Spring is here and so are headlice. Please see information in a further article and please treat.

Wheelies - it's great to see our tamariki with their helmets but we are aware that many of these do not fit properly. Unfortunately if they fall off, their helmet doesn't give them any protection. Can you please check helmets fit firmly on your child's head.

A donations reminder will be coming out to you next week. We realise that for some of you your circumstances have changed with COVID. We would appreciate any contributions especially as the donations help us cover swimming and trips.
