If you have a child who turns 5 in 2024 and you live Out of Zone please read this important information. (Form is attached) Please note if you have already completed this form you do not need to submit another one.

If your child turns 5 in 2024 and you live Out of Zone and wish your child to attend Somerfield Te Kura Wairepo, they DO NOT have an automatic right to attend even if they have a sibling attends.

Please take these steps so we can plan for 2024.

1. Check the zone map here.

2. If you are in zone go to the article "In Zone" and follow the procedures.

3. If you are Out of Zone you MUST fill in a ballot form attached and return to the office Wednesday, 20 September 2023.

This form does not give your child right of entry but it gives our Board of Trustees information to help decide the number of Out of Zone positions they will offer in 2024. It is part of other information gathered and the BoT will be looking to ensure our school is not overcrowded.

4. If there are more applications that positions offered then a ballot will be held on Friday, 22 September. Either way you will find out by if your application was successful and have 10 working days to take up the offer.

IMPORTANT. Note a step brother or sister with no blood ties is NOT a sibling and will not  be eligible for an opportunity of an Out of Zone sibling criteria.
