Thank you SMART Somerfield Kids
Tamariki showing they are SMART
The real test of a Somerfield Kid is beyond our gates. Those children who take it upon themselves to think of others, be inclusive and show respect. This week I'd like to acknowledge some of these tamariki.
Oscar Ydgren decided he would like to support the tamariki in our Milo club and went about raising funds by selling trees. He donated this money to the club. Thank you Oscar.
The other group that stood out this week was the Stringrays basketball team. I received an email on Wednesday night from a Thorrington School parent congratulating this group and Kathy for including her daughter, whose team didn't make it in their team. This parent said, "I just wanted to reach out and say how incredible the children were from all three Somerfield teams. They were so friendly, kind, respectful and had fantastic sportsmanship. They all made my daughter, Indie feel really welcome and she had so much fun with them. She said she could even hear some of the parents cheering for her."
Oscar and the Springrays (as well as Kathy and our other teams and whānau) you make us proud!
