During one of the teacher-only days at the beginning of the term the staff at Somerfield Te Kura Wairepo took part in a professional development day about the new Aotearoa NZ history curriculum being rolled out into schools 2022. Daniel Caigou led the session to support the staff with their knowledge and understanding of this curriculum.

The children will be completing this unit of work in the second half of the term. The final week of school will be Aotearoa NZ History week where the children will spend the week immersed in their learning and sharing what they know with their classmates and families. We are looking forward to seeing how the children share their new learnings.
