Last Tuesday, 8th November a group of year 5 and 6 Somerfield students went to Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub to compete at the Zones Athletics. The children that attended this event were selected from the results of our school athletics competition and were the top in their event. Some of the sports we did well in were, long distance, relay, sprints and long jump. It was cool watching people compete against other schools (Oaklands, Cashmere, West Spreydon, Hoon Hay) from our zone. Some of our favourite parts of the day were running in the relay with our team and competing in lots of different events. It was an amazing experience. We hope we get the chance to do this again next year.  To the people who are going to Centrals in week 7, we wish you the best of luck and make sure you have lots of fun!
