Message from the Tumuaki

Denise Torrey —

He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa - Warm greetings to all

This week has certainly had its challenges with increased COVID numbers and Monday (8), flu, colds and tummy bugs.

But there were highlights in the gloom! Congratulations to our boys and girls basketball teams who won the Zone competition on Tuesday. Thank you to our parent coaches who help coach these tamariki but in particular thank you to Kathy Burrows who is here morning after morning coaching our tamariki. Her dedication to our tamariki is to be admired. Thank you, Kathy, you're a star!

Tomorrow is Year 5 rocket testing day. I'm pleased we are not on the flight path as I'm assured the rockets will go far!

Next week, on Tuesday, are the Year 6 Go-kart trials at Hollis Park. It has been great watching these emerge and once again thank you to a dedicated group of whānau who have been helping with sawing, hammering, testing, and advising our tamariki.

We will have photographic evidence next week of these and other end-of-term events.

We are still hoping to hold our SMART assembly next Friday 2pm.  This assembly is only for our tamariki, staff and whānau of those who are receiving SMART Kid awards. Whānau attending will need to wear masks.
