South Canterbury Free Kindergarten (SCK) is committed to protecting your privacy when enrolling your child at any of the Kindergartens or subscribing or contributing to any of our online services including but not limited to Email, Facebook, Instagram, or Website. We recognise the importance of protecting the privacy of information collected about Users, in particular, information that is capable of identifying a User (Personal Information).
Privacy – Procedure 3.18
Rationale
Personal information needs to be held on record for children, parents, caregivers, and staff. This information needs to be secure and only used for legitimate purposes. South Canterbury Kindergartens (SCK) is committed to protecting and promoting individual privacy with regard to:
1 The collection, use, and disclosure of information relating to individuals.
2 Access by each individual to information relating to that individual held by the Association.
Guidelines
“SCK is committed to honouring the personal information collection, storage, access and correction provisions and Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1993”
(a) Information shall be stored securely in hard copy or electronic form;
(b) Parents/legal guardians are entitled to access information about their child/children, and shall be entitled to request correction of any information they deem to be inaccurate;
(c) Staff will ensure that the disposal of any private or sensitive information is undertaken by either shredding, removing-deleting online information or depositing material in the special disposal bin held at the main office;
(d) Personal information may be shared with Government departments such as Community Health for purposes concerning the education, health, and welfare of enrolled children;
(e) Any complaints, queries or requests about personal information shall be directed at first instance to the Privacy Officer appointed by the Board (or to the General Manager if no such appointment has been made). office@sck.nz

This Privacy Policy (Policy) governs the manner in which your Personal Information is collected and used.
By joining SCK you are deemed to have consented to the collection, storage, disclosure and use of your Personal Information in a manner disclosed in this Policy. If you do not agree to be bound by the Policy, then please do not use our Product and Services or raise your concerns with the Office Admin at office@sck.nz
We reserve the right to amend the Policy from time to time. Changes to the Policy will be notified to you by us indicating on the Policy the date it was last updated. Definitions

‘SCK/l/We/Us or Our’ means South Canterbury Kindergartens;
‘You/Your/Yourself/User’ means the Person enrolling their child, visiting and/or using our Website, visiting Facebook or social media;
‘Organisation’ means a group comprised of Members which subscribes to the Services, ‘Owner’ means the Member of an Organisation who is responsible for the administration of the Organisation.
‘Person’ means a legal person or organisation;
‘Personal Information’ means information that specifically identifies a User, such as name, address, telephone number, email address.
‘Policy’ means this Privacy Policy as may be amended by SCK from time to time;
‘Website’ means the website located at www.sck.nz.
