Tamariki at Waimataitai Kindergarten were excited to unwrap a large parcel and discover a new water barrel and pump! The pump can be filled with tap or rainwater, and as they play, any waste water flows back into the barrel.

There has been much korero the importance of respecting wai as a valuable resource, and about how the pump works alongside lots of mahitahi as tamariki support each other with working the pump. Having the pump, allows tamariki to independently access water for play and the watering of our mara kai.
