Rata Kindergarten tamariki have been enjoying the new “soft” sand that was generously donated during the holidays. Sand play offers our tamariki rich opportunities to explore, create and learn. Through digging, building, and shaping sand, they develop essential physical, social and cognitive skills.

There has been a lot of collaborative sand play which foster’s teamwork, communication, and problem-solving as tamariki work together to construct castles and navigate imaginative scenarios. It also supports creativity and emotional well-being by providing a calming open-ended sensory experience.
