At Kowhai Kindergarten this week tamariki have been discovering and refining their working theories across a variety of contexts. An example of this is showcased in this video where children observed the visual timers and constructed their own ideas about how they work. 

Our early childhood curriculum Te Whāriki emphasises that this learning happens in a social context, where both individual discovery and collective dialogue with peers are valued. This approach nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world.
