Creating a tune for everyone to enjoy

Rhona Day Kindergarten —

When making music, tamariki are:

 Developing the ability to be creative and expressive through making music.

 Experimenting with cause and effect.

 Playing instruments with care and respect – learning about playing the piano - ‘one finger, one key’.

 Being spontaneous.

 Developing hand-eye co-ordination and listening skills.

 Experiencing joy.

Musical experiences provide meaningful opportunities for tamariki to express themselves, connect with others, and explore the world around them. Providing endless opportunities for tamariki to explore sounds, rhythms, melodies, and patterns. Through making music, tamariki learn about the world of sound, and how they can manipulate sounds to produce something unique.
