Five newly registered SCK Kaiako and one Retiree were acknowledged and celebrated with others in the community at the NZEI Graduands and Retirees Celebration, for the South Canterbury and Waimate Branches at Sopheze on the Bay on Thursday 3rd of December.

A corsage was given to each graduate, they were seated on the stage and a certificate presented by Elizabeth Murray and then the big surprise of the evening occurred, a Team Member, Principal or Senior Teacher came to the stage to congratulate and sing the praises of each person.

Retiree Kathy Squire stood up on stage as Angela O’Connor gave a wonderful speech about her many years of service within the Kindergarten Community, Congratulations Kathy and all of the kaiako who were recognized, Erin Bates, Angie Mansfield, Kelly Martin, Debra Still and Gareth Wood.

This was a great function, honouring the hard work and service of all and I would urge everyone who qualifies to attend this yearly event.
