Today the children at Kowhai Kindergarten helped to weed the Mara kai (food garden). Our tamariki discovered our Potatoes were ready so we worked together (mahi tahi) and dug them all up. A whole bucket full to share with our families.

During gardening experiences our tamariki are making connections with the natural world through a process of kaitiakitaka (guardianship), as well developing their understanding of where their food comes from and how they can contribute to the well-being of others. Tino pai ki tō mahi tahi koutou.
