Tamariki are encouraged to have positive attitudes towards themselves, each other, and the environment, and we support this through our curriculum priorities of:
Whatumanawa – A healthy expression of emotion
Tamariki strengthen their emotional competence through understanding, expressing and regulating their thoughts, feelings, and actions in a healthy way.
Manaakitanga – Respect and care of each other
Tamariki develop nurturing relationships with each other, showing kindness and respect, enhancing the mana of each child.
Kaitiakitanga - Guardianship of our whenua (land)
Tamariki connect with Papatūānuku, strengthening their understanding and awareness in caring for the environment and everything within it.
Celebrating the cultural diversity of tamariki and their whānau we provide a bicultural curriculum that upholds the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Our large environment fosters strong links to the natural world and is rich in challenges and opportunities that empower tamariki to turn their natural energy into skills for life ‘kia huri te wairua o ngā tamariki mokopuna, ki te toi o te orangatanga’.
