Tamariki baked some savoury muffins with zucchini with kaiako Sarah who had brought these zucchini’s in from her veggie garden at home.

There was lots of science and maths learning to be done in baking as we measure, see the changes of our baking from going into the oven of what comes out, lots of turn taking and fine motor skills as we mix, grate and pour!

Bonus that they were delish and the tamariki loved them (and our Harakeke room smelt amazing!). These zucchini muffins were also then shared with the tamariki in the Ruawai room (under twos area)”. 

We had some more keen gardeners within our community, who were kind enough to bring in some plums which they picked themself from their Nana’s garden. These were also a huge hit, kia ora to this whānau for sharing these yummy plums with us!
