The end of the year is fast approaching, so like all schools, we have been busy organising a successful classroom teaching structure for next year. There have also been some changes in staffing as some of our current teaching staff leave to take on new and exciting changes.

Staff Farewells

Firstly we sadly say farewell to Mr Fraser Goodin and Miss Kirsty Quick. 

Kirsty and her partner are relocating to the Hamilton. Kirsty has been an outstanding teacher in the junior school and will be missed. We wish her all the best on her new adventures. 

Fraser is  also chasing new teaching and learning adventures next year. It has been great having Fraser working as part of the Year 4-6 team. We wish him all the best for the fresh and exciting challenges that lay ahead. 

Sadly we also farewell Diane Gibson and Rachel Manson two of our amazing 2018 Teacher Aides.

New Staff 2019

We welcome Miss Lucy Gosling and  Mrs Anna Clothier to the South Hornby School staff in 2019. Lucy is a beginning teacher, who is well known to many of the students and parents/caregivers across the school, as she worked in the school in her final placement for six weeks prior to her graduation. She has also completed a few days relieving this year.

Anna is currently teaching at Linwood North School here in Christchurch. She will bring to the South Hornby School a wealth of teaching and learning experience, especially in the junior school.
