SNBS at Strum Strike Blow 2022
On Wednesday10 August our ukulele and recorder groups represented South New Brighton School at the Strum, Strike and Blow Festival.
Our group of 40 students spent the day rehearsing at the Christchurch Arena and then returned to the arena for the evening performance. Our groups have been attending Strum, Strike, Blow for many years and it was great to be part of the 10th year of the festival.
For our students, the festival is the culmination of months of work. It has been particularly hard practising in groups in times of Covid restrictions so we are particularly proud of the children who've stuck with their instruments.
Thank you to parents, Emma and Jeremy, for their support during the day.
Also, a big thank you to our SNBS whanau for supporting their tamariki with their practise and for their support on the night of the festival.
We hope you enjoy the photos of the daytime rehearsal and the performance. Keep an eye on the website; official photos and videos will be uploaded soon.
Mel teaches ukulele to Year 5 to 8 students and Mrs Ward works with recorder for Years 4 to 8.
