Winter Sport - The draws are on http://www.easterncommunity.co.nz/programme/rcsi-sport-cluster/ 

Please remind students to bring a warm jacket and hat on Fridays. They must be in PE gear (sports top). They must have water bottles and take their lunch with them.

Basketball:

SNBS Basketball winning streak continues over the last 2 weeks! The Yr 5/6 boys team and the Yr 7/8 mixed team have won 4 games straight now!! Move over Steven Adams!

In Game 5, the boys went up against Te Pa o Rakaihautu and won 19-13. Ben Pearson took home Player of the Game for his excellent team play and massive improvement as the team's newest player. He showed excellent dribbling, passing & stealing skills. DJ Knuth had a fierce game leading the team in passing, stealing, rebounding & added 5 points to the score. Cooper Shanks had 2 assists & 6 points. Oliver Soper 4 points. Tyler Lodge 4 points.

Their most recent win in Game 6 against Haeata gave DJ Knuth the Player of the Game. DJ scored 2pts & had 5 steals. He showed good team play & great game knowledge. Cooper Shanks also had a stellar game with lots of passing, stealing, rebounds & 2 points. Oliver Soper had 4 points & 4 rebounds. Jamyn had 2 points & 3 steals. Reuben Reynolds had 4 points & 4 rebounds. Final score was 14-2. An especially great win, as the boys lost to this team in their 1st game of the season.

Our Yr 5/6 girls team had a convincing win last week against Haeata 14 - 2. Making them top of the ladder. Go girls. Introducing the team: Holly Partridge, Teina O’Leary, Aaliyah Rose, Amelia Gibson, Alice Martin and Ava Salay.

The Yr 7/8 mixed team had another win last week against Rawhiti, a team they lost to last round. They won 14 - 0.

All the best to these teams who will be playing in the zone competition this week.

Jump Jam Over the weekend representatives from SNBS competed in the Jump Jam competition. This was our first year competing in this event. There were a huge number of teams from around Canterbury. The competed so convincingly and both teams won a certificate in excellence in sportsmanship and a merit in technical execution. Congratulations girls: Janessa Stewart, Mila Penei, Mikaela Radford, Sophia Leftly, Isabel Macdonald, Cinta Davis, Neve Tikao, Nataliah Ward and Emmi King-Smith.

Yr 7/8 team: Ella Leftly, Emily Richie, Lucia Gray, Milly Perry, Holly Kyle, Isla McDonald, Daisy Leonard and Eden Sheppard.
