Jump Jam Competition, 2019
This year we were lucky enough to enter two Jump Jam teams consisting of students from Year 5&6.
Jump Jam is a big part of our school and has steadily built up over the past few years. Due to the increase in interest for the teams this year, Mrs Thornton asked Miss Greenwood to take on the second team and train them in preparation for their competition. The competition was held on Saturday 22nd June at Burnside High School against other schools in the Canterbury area.
The first team was entered into Strictly Jump Jam which is to perform a chosen Jump Jam routine with no changes of formation, choreography or costumes. Students can compete in Strictly if it is their first time entering into Jump Jam competition. This team was trained by Miss Greenwood.
The second team was entered into All Star Jump Jam where they chose a Jump Jam song and were allowed to make changes to their formation and wear costumes to match their song choice and makeup. This team was trained by Mrs Thornton
The Strictly team were awarded two certificates, Merit in Presentation and Excellence in Sportsmanship.
The All Star team were awarded four certificates, Excellence in Sportsmanship, Merit in presentation, Merit in Costumes and Merit in Creative formation. The All Star team were placed 4th overall in their category.
We are very fortunate to have supportive parents who came to help us get the students ready for their performances, we really appreciate your support with the teams.
