Gumboot MONDAY! #GumbootUpNZ!
Help us participate in a fun way to raise funds for kids' mental health on Monday 1st April with a mufti & gumboots day!
For our Term 1 Mufti Day we have decided to participate in Gumboot Friday...but since all of our Year 6 students will be away on their camp in Arthurs Pass on Friday 5th April - we will be making our Gumboot Friday a Gumboot Monday! SO on Monday 1st April, we will have a mufti day where our students can wear any clothes of their choice along with a pair of gumboots if possible.
So…what is Gumboot Friday anyway?
About a year ago, Mike King got an idea to help kiwi kids in need – get everyone in Aotearoa to wear gumboots to raise money for kids’ counselling. Last year we had one person wearing their gumboots (that was Mike). This year we’re aiming for 4.7 million people in gumboots so we can raise $2 million!
Why gumboots?
Having depression is like walking through mud every day. So we're asking you to show your support by putting on your gumboots, giving a gold coin and taking a walk in their shoes for just one day. It's a fun way for kiwis to join in the mental health conversation, while raising money to provide FREE and timely counselling for any kid in need.
Get involved and #GumbootUpNZ on Monday 1st April – it’s so easy!
Get yourself some gumboots (those dirty ones at home are perfect)
On Monday 1st April, wear them to school and give a gold coin donation please to your teacher (if you can)
We will take all donations to the nearest Kiwibank branch to deposit them into the Gumboot Friday account.
100% of your donation goes to the kids. All donations are deposited by us into the Kiwibank Gumboot Friday account. The money will then go directly to the registered health professional upon receipt of an invoice.
This will ensure 100% of your money goes directly where it's needed: to kids getting the help and support they need, when they need it most.
