Southbridge School recently received a very generous grant from Kiwi Gaming Foundation Limited to purchase Play Based Learning resources for our Junior Rōpū. Play-based resources empower children to explore, create, and learn in ways that ignite their natural curiosity. By engaging in meaningful play, children take ownership of their learning journey, fostering student agency as they make choices, solve problems, and collaborate with peers. These activities stimulate creativity, encouraging innovative thinking and helping children express themselves in unique ways.

Through play, children encounter opportunities to connect ideas, build resilience, and find joy in discovery, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Inspiring and dynamic, play-based resources transform education into an adventure where every child’s potential is nurtured and celebrated.

Southbridge School was very fortunate to receive a grant from New Zealand Community Trust to purchase wonderful new sports equipment. We appreciate this funding support and our students are excited to use all the new equipment. Playing sports carries many benefits. Having physical activity helps our kids to stay healthy and learn important skills, such as teamwork, leadership, and decision-making, which are all valuable life lessons.
