Southbridge Swim Club AGM

The Southbridge Swim Club AGM will be held on Sunday the 30th of October at 7pm at the Southbridge Hotel.

We are looking for new committee members to join us and help provide low cost lessons to the children in our community. If you would like any further information please ask. We would love to see some new faces at our AGM.

Southbridge Tennis Club

The tennis season is upon us and the Southbridge tennis club would love to have some new players, we can offer the following options for your kids. Adult players also welcome.

TENNIS FOR 9 YEAR OLDS and UP

Many kids start playing Saturday tennis from the age of 9 upwards. We are organising these teams in the next week. If you would like your child to be in a Saturday team please contact me with the information (see below). All the information including dates can be found on the Ellesmere Tennis Juniors website. Basically games start late October through to mid-December, a break for the school holidays and resuming after Waitangi weekend until the end of March. Subs $120 which includes coaching, affiliation fees, club fees to cover balls, uniforms etc. One parent will volunteer to manage the team.

TENNIS FOR 5-8 YEAR OLDS

Mini Tennis is the perfect place for kids and parents to learn the game of tennis. Runs from the Lincoln Club on Friday afternoons. See Ellesmere Tennis Juniors website. And attachment. Registration done through Ellesmere Tennis.

COACHING

All ages are welcome for coaching. Once we have numbers we will be able to confirm the coach, the day and times for coaching groups. Coaching only $60. Please reply with the information required see below.

Public Meeting on Education

This Friday 28 October at 6:00pm at Te Ara Ātea, Nicola Grigg is hosting a public meeting with our spokesperson for Education, Erica Stanford MP.

This is an opportunity for parents and staff to share any concerns about the education system in New Zealand, and to relay their ideas and vision to improve it - as we are currently drafting policy ideas. With this, we ask whether you would consider sharing this meeting with your community to allow them the opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions.
