Booking Learning Conferences and Accessing Hero Parent Portal

Learning Conferences

Our learning conferences are a chance for our students, teachers and parents/ guardians to meet together to discuss student learning, progress and next steps. There is an expectation that family members have accessed the parent portal to Hero to view their child/ren’s learning posts prior to the learning conference as this is an opportunity to ask any questions you may have as a result. 

Learning conferences are just 15 minutes per child to allow enough time for teachers to meet with each family over the two nights. If you have additional questions or concerns you would like to discuss with a staff member, please make an appointment to meet with the teacher again at another time that suits both.

Each booking is 15 minutes long. Please ensure you arrive on time to each booking.

Booking your interviews

The booking website will open Thursday, 22 June at 3:30 PM, and will close Monday, 17 July at 10:00 AM.

  1. Go to https://parentinterviews.co.nz/book/go/SSSSHNYX
  2. Enter your name, contact information, and the names of the students you wish to make bookings for.
  3. Select the teachers you'd like to book by ticking the checkbox beside their name, and then click the Book Interviews button at the bottom of the page.
  4. Using the timetable, click the Book button beside the time slot you'd like to book for the teacher. You'll be asked to confirm your booking.
  5. Continue until you've made bookings for every teacher you'd like to see.

Once you're finished, you can view your timetable by clicking My Interviews at the top of the page. You can also print a copy of your timetable to take to the event.

Before your bookings you'll receive an email reminder containing your timetable. If you need to cancel any bookings, you can do so by following the link in the email you received when you first signed up.

Reporting Information

All reporting information, including learning comments, goals and student achievement information are shared via Hero. If you haven't already accessed your child's Hero page please follow these steps to do so before the learning conferences.

How do I access the Hero Linc-ed Parent Portal for the first time to view my child's learning? 

1. Download the Hero by LINC-ED app from the app store

Note: use the keywords Hero LINC-ED when searching for the app

Alternatively, open your browser and enter go.linc-ed.com

2. Click NEW USER

3. Enter the email address you have provided the school and click REQUEST PASSWORD LINK

If your email address is not accepted, please contact your school.

4. You will receive a message confirming a password email has been sent

5. Open your email inbox and click on the Hero Password Reset email

If you do not receive a Hero Password Reset email, check your spam folder.

6. Open the email and click RESET MY PASSWORD

7. Enter a secure password (8 or more characters), verify this password then click SET PASSWORD

8. You will receive a confirmation message. Click SIGN IN

9. Enter your email address and your newly set password. If you are using a public device or do not want your password auto-saved, tick This is a public device

10. Click SIGN IN
