Start of Year information for 2024.
Strengths of Goal Setting Interviews (hui)
Starting the year with whānau goal-setting huis allows:
teachers to get to know their learners (their strengths, their passions, their skills and abilities), their parents, make connections and strengthen relationships from day one.
teachers, parents and children to collaboratively set term one goals.
parents and children to look around the learning spaces, familiarising themselves if they were new to the team (supporting those who may be anxious about change).
students to find their cubbies, unpack and check their stationery (with the support of their parents).
students and parents to express interest in any clubs, sports teams, choir, kapa haka, Home & School committee etc.
students and parents to take home any newsletters, consent forms and important information.
The family hui and goal setting interviews will take place on Wednesday 31st January. These interviews are a 10 minute meeting to greet your teacher for 2024 and set learning goals. We ask that families book meeting times with their new teacher on this day, as per the below instructions.

Stationery
Once again we have teamed up with Qizzle to make ordering stationery easier. All your child’s stationery list requirements will be uploaded online at https://schoolpacks.co.nz and a flyer is attached to their letter on how to order online. Junior roopu stationery is more expensive than senior roopu due to the specialised books juniors need for handwriting and that in the senior school students create and store more of their work online, so need fewer books. It is important that they develop the correct handwriting skills at an early age.
Qizzle offered the best pricing out of competitors for online ordering. Please reuse items from this year as much as possible.
They’ve made payment super easy. Not only do Schoolpacks accept credit and debit cards, but you can choose to manage the payment with LayBuy in six easy, interest-free instalments.
And you can even pick the delivery date to fit in with when you are home from the bach or beach! Online ordering with Qizzle takes the hassle out of buying stationery – beating the queues, the traffic, trying to find the right books while juggling frustrated kids! Our school receives a rebate from Qizzle for all online orders.
Approximate Costs for 2024
We have prepared a list of approximate costs in order to help you prepare for 2024. Any items listed as non curriculum will be an additional activity, so full payment is required for those activities.
We are requesting contributions for the full cost of any curriculum camp offered by the school, in line with the Ministry of Education’s school fees, charges and donations guidelines. If these contributions are not paid, we may not be able to provide camps.
Swimming and day trips were covered by the MoE donation scheme from 2023, so no payment is required for those curriculum activities once again in 2024.
The costs below are estimates only and we hope that the actual cost will be as listed or lower.
Please note that the Music Festival cost will be for choir members only and that the Cultural Festival cost will be for kapa haka members only as these are optional non curriculum activities. All activities will be invoiced separately to your child's account as the activity draws near.
Please feel welcome to set up an automatic payment now to cover the camp contribution.
