Both team placing 3rd over all in New Zealand! :)

Last week Monday 29th – Saturday 3rd September a group of 9 staff, support staff & ex students travelled down to Rotorua with 34 of our students to participate in the 2022 National Rugby League Secondary School competition. Also, the first time they have included a Secondary School Girls grade.

The best way to describe this experience is like a trench war battle with a slow calculated grind, 5am starts & 12am finishes for staff to ensure our students physical & mental well-being stayed intact to rise every morning and battle on. This was particularly challenging for our girls team who travelled down depleted in numbers and understrength with only 2 year 13’s & the majority of students made up of Y11, 10, & 9.

Supported by a leadership group lead by Elijah, Otufangavalu, Lamonye, Rodriki, Puao, Fa’afetai, Mavaeloi, & Raylanny. This group ensured their teams held our School label & values high with dignity & pride.

An outstanding effort from both teams & staff to finished the tournament 3rd overall in NZ.
