About Us

Southern Cross Campus —

Southern Cross Campus College is an exciting place of learning, catering for students from Years 1 through to 13.

Students enter the college in the middle years at a time when they are emerging young people preparing to take on new challenges and aspirations. Senior students set their sights on exciting vocational pathways that lead to global opportunities. A feature of being part of the college is that younger students can draw on the positive leadership and support from older students.

One Year 7 student said...

“Senior students advise us and give us words of encouragement. They look out for us and act like our older brothers and sisters. Our prefects and top sportspeople also inspire us to achieve our goals.”

All students are supported through one of four whanau houses; Rimu, Pohutukawa, Kauri and Totara. The House/whanau system enables students to build lifelong friendships, founded on respect and shared expectations. The houses provide a home away from home where students are supported academically, spiritually, socially, emotionally and physically. Leadership opportunities are offered at all levels and many students participate in sport, performing arts and cultural groups. The college is also very proud of the extensive systems of care offered by guidance and health specialists.

A parent of a Southern Cross Campus College student said...

“The culture here is so strong that the kids know who they are. Kids are able to keep their culture and maintain their standards of who they are as individuals. The school caters for this and is very supportive of culture.”

Students at Southern Cross Campus College are engaged in and enjoy their learning which is evident in the high academic achievement results and positive learning environment. Every year, our academic achievement results continue to increase. When they have completed their secondary education, our students go on to universities, polytechnics, internships and apprenticeships. We are very proud of developing confident, resilient, life-long learners who contribute positively to society.
