"To keep a warm heart in winter is the real victory.”

Maitua Feterika —

Great results across all our sports codes. Gets more exciting as our Rugby Union season starts next week!

On Wednesday 11 May we saw the start of the Auckland rugby league college competition in which our 1st XIII travelled down to James Cook High School with the 9Aside Under 15 team. The highlight in the second half was seeing Selu step, followed by a couple of fends and gap it through a couple of players, out under the goalposts, only to pass it to Sane for him to score the 8th try of the match.

The final score:

SCC 1st XIII 52 vs 0 JCHS 1st XIII

MVP: Elijah Salesa Leaumoana

Leadership: Joshua Halatanu

Most Improved: Lamonye Matu

2nd XIII Rugby League Boys

Joshua Cocker captained the side and was a great role model on the field for the boys. Akuila Potaufa, Latu Fakautoki and Sione Lolohea also stepped up and led the team with their actions on the field. We conceded 4 tries and went into halftime trailing 18-8. The boys kept up the positive talk at halftime, however, our defence and fitness let us down with Papatoetoe scoring another 18 points in the second half taking the WIN at 36-16. Awesome to see our students continue to display resilience in their element, next week we play at home so come and support our boys.
