Being Late To School

Sarah Warren —

Being late is an attendance issue. In our effort to grow regular attendance and continually improve learning outcomes for students, we are also focusing on lateness. Students are expected to be in class by 8.50am.

Being late to a class may mean your child misses out on the start of a lesson. The 'start' may include a recap of the previous days learning, followed by an explanation of the next part of learning will be done for that specific period. A student who is late 10 mins or more each day will lose 50 minutes of learning in a week which over an academic year is 33 hours of lost learning. Ultimately this does affect achievement.

As parents we need your support to ensure that your child arrives on time to school everyday. Thank you in advance.
