Lost Property, what have FOSS been buying, last date for ham orders and new Springston signage
Time to check the lost property box and check out what FOSS have bought this year, thanks to you and we're getting some new signs in Springston.
Lost Property
As we are nearing the end of the year, now is a good time to check the lost property box and rack outside Tongariro. You may enter the school, just ensure you scan in at the gate, sign in at reception and wear a mask. Any unclaimed gear will be washed and donated to the second hand store at the end of the year.
Sports Gear, Literacy Material and Toys for the Kids
FOSS has been fundraising over the last year and with some of the proceeds we have purchased a number of new items for the kids, including sports gear, literacy material and toys. We couldn't have done this without the help of the FOSS team, and everyone who purchased something or helped with one of our fundraisers (like the Kirwee Field Day), so thank you. Also thanks to Domino's Lincoln (pizza fundraiser) and The Laboratory Lincoln (Karma Keg fundraiser).
See attached photos of some of the gear received so far, with more photos to come.
Ham Orders
Ham orders close Monday 6th December, so login to Kindo and place your order now to avoid disappointment. Delivery date is Tuesday 14th December 3pm. Details on how to login are in the two previous newsletters and on our FOSS facebook page. We ordered 47 last year - can we beat that number this year?
New signage for Springston
After a year of consulting with the SDC, I have confirmation that they are in the process of installing threshold signage on all three approaches to Springston.
They are also finalising the approval to install a Speed Indication Device (the sign that flashes up your speed as you approach it) which will be rotated around the three entries to Springston.
There is also a consultation open at the moment for speed signage around schools. Nationally there is a move to reduce the speed at school frontages to 30km/hr. Councillors and community are in agreement with this reduction and they will roll out implementation once the Government has signed off the legal tool.
Please see below for the link to the consultation.

A Friendly Reminder: Lunches moving to Kindo
School lunches will be available through kindo from Term one 2022 and this will be replacing our current lunch online! So, if you have a credit with lunch online, now is the perfect time to use it all up. The benefit of switching to kindo, is that you can pay for school items, purchase event tickets, support fundraisers and order lunches all in the one place!
