Be an Upstander - Prevent Bullying: A NED Short
Video by The NED Shows
Be an Upstander!
In anticipation of Pink Shirt Day today, our fortnightly PB4L focus has been about being an Upstander.
An Upstander is someone who notices bullying and uses words or actions to help, unlike a bystander who sees bullying but doesn’t know what to do. We have been learning about the four steps that we can choose from to be an Upstander. They are:
1) Be a buddy: be kind to the people being bullied
2) Interrupt the bully: give a reason to walk away from the problem
3) Speak out about bullying: say “That’s mean, don’t do that”
4) Tell an adult about the bullying
We encourage you to discuss being an Upstander at home and watch the Upstander video together.
