Mooring Post Deliverers Thank You Morning Tea

Jo Cotton —

A big thank you to those who deliver the Mooring Post in our community each month!

The Mooring Post thank you morning tea was held on Thursday in the Tui Room after the 10am Service. Some of those who faithfully deliver our parish magazine, the Mooring Post, enjoyed each other's company along with some fabulous food and a cuppa. Thank you so much for giving your time.

The Mooring Post is what connects those who can no longer attend church or are just interested in keeping up with what is going on in the parish, which is usually a lot as this is a very busy parish!

Thanks to all those who contribute to its content especially Roberta Smith who brings us interviews and wonderful stories from some of our parishioners.  Also thanks to the local businesses who advertise which helps to pay for its printing - do support local!

I started out on the Mooring Post doing what I called the puff pieces, till somehow I graduated to putting it together, and thanks to Jenny who comes along after me and corrects my grammatical errors and spelling mistakes!

I have clocked up many miles running up and down the stairs from my office to the photocopier to check that it has printed out correctly. Too often it hasn't so a few more runs up and down are required until I could do my happy dance and shout ''yee haaa" when it came out correctly!  There have been some times when that has even happened first time!!  Those were good months!

I have loved putting it together, it has fed my creativity, I've loved hearing people's feedback and I know how much it means to so many people. But it has also taken up a lot of my time so I am handing it over to a new editor, and you will be seeing some new and exciting changes.  One of those changes will be that it will now be produced bi-monthly.

The December - January issue is out now and available from the church, hall or the parish office.

If you would like one delivered, please contact the parish office. Or just pick one up when you're at church or passing. And do share it with your friends & neighbours.
