St Barnabas Youth Rise to Challenge

Mark Chamberlain —

Last Friday young people of the parish visited a number of homes around the parish undertaking an activity challenge in each - didn't they do well!

Last week groups of St Barnabas young people visited parishioners living near the church to undertake one or more 'challenges'. The Vicarage was host to a group of five keen young lads along with youth leader Joe Greenslade.

Challenges included singing a song together while playing a ukulele and building a 'human pyramid.' The team completed both challenges with enthusiasm and energy!

We're so blessed to have Robyn Hocking as our youth leader as well as Joe Greenslade and Braeden McInnes - our two Assistant Youth Leaders. They are helping to develop a strong, Christian core group. The young people are also learning leadership skills and growing in resilience.

A number of the senior youth are being encouraged to get involved with the 'Faith Project' which is a programme involving a number of challenges and experiences - all designed to build faith and responsibility. Part of the Faith Project involves meeting with a mentor from time to time.

Let's continue to prayer for our youth leadership team and the young people themselves - great things are happening!
