Thank you from Mark and Pip

Mark Chamberlain —

Former St Barnabas vicar Mark Chamberlain shares what they bought with the farewell gift given to them by the parish.

 Dear members of St Barnabas,

This is an overdue message of thanks to all those who contributed to our farewell gift in January. We were able to purchase a new bed, outdoor furniture and a barbeque. We use these items regularly (especially the bed!) and are reminded of the very happy 11 years we spent with you – thank you for your heartwarming generosity!

We have settled very well into our new home at West Melton. The neighbours are absolutely lovely – there are two Christian couples who live very nearby. We’re loving the country feel with big skies, sunrises and sunsets, mountain views, fresh air and lots of places to run! We’re in the middle of a rather ambitious garden development (no surprise there!) with a new shed, exposed aggregate paths, patios and new shrubberies and flower beds. Pip is in her element!

On Sundays, when I’m not a visiting preacher somewhere around the Diocese, Pip and I attend St Paul’s West Melton where there is a small but engaging congregation. My role as Archdeacon for Regeneration and Mission is going well with lots of invitations to speak to Vestries and congregations about the possibilities of growth and renewal. It’s a joy to work alongside Bishop Peter and the other members of the wider Diocesan team.

Once again thank you for your generosity. Pip and I continue to pray that a new Vicar for St Barnabas will be appointed soon.

May God bless you all,

Mark and Pip Chamberlain
