Waimāero Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board Breakfast.

Jo Cotton —

St Barnabas hosted the end-of-year breakfast for the Waimāero Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board meeting.

Every two months I attend the Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community board networking gathering. This is where a number of community groups, such as Citizens Advice Bureau, the Men's Shed, and many other church groups, from around the three areas get together to network, to hear what each other is doing, and to hear guest speakers. We have had mental health Huis and funding Huis.  We often meet at the various groups' places, and it is great to see what others are doing around our area. The Council always provides us with tea and coffee and yummy food!  This year I was finally able to offer St Barnabas as a place to meet and so we got to host the end-of-year breakfast.

The Council supports St Barnabas through funding grants for staff and the community van; they also contributed funding towards our Fendall Hall's new kitchen.

The team who run the meetings, Natalie, Karen, Lisa, and Katie are incredibly supportive of all the many groups and organizations that attend and always looking out for our health and wellbeing, as they understand how busy we all are and how much the various groups do for the community.  I think they are absolute super stars and I am grateful for their continued support of St Barnabas.
