With increased membership and great leaders the St Barnabas Sanctuary Guild is in good heart - could you join this wonderful team of volunteers?

The Sanctuary Guild had its AGM during the week and we were encouraged to hear reports from the Flower, Linen, Brass and Silver teams. There were new people present and lots of laughs and energy!

Cathy Chandler is the parish Sacristan and takes responsiblity for coordinating the guild as a whole. The other team leaders gave their reports and were thanked enthusiastically. Team leaders are Carol Stewart (Flowers), Christine Philpott (Linen), Pam Stewart (Brass) and Ann Masters (Silver).

A number of the teams expressed the hope that others may join in to help. This is a 'behind the scenes' ministry but is most important in presenting the church and hall in a beautiful and inspiring way which everyone appreciates. The meeting agreed to the proposal that rostered duties, if possible, should take place on Saturday mornings at 9.30am. This had been the pattern prior to the disrupting 2010-11 earthquakes. Reinstating this pattern would strengthen a sense of teamwork and camaraderie. It is even hoped that Denis and the choir would practice at the same time - what an inspiring thought!
