Sanctuary Guild Serving ‘Behind-the-Scenes’

Mark Chamberlain —

The 30 or so members of the Sanctuary Guild undertake a ‘behind the scenes’ ministry on behalf of St Barnabas parishioners – and we are very grateful!

The Guild is made up of four teams; the Flower, Silver, Brass and Linen teams and Cathy Chandler has overall responsibility for these teams and reports to the Vicar.

The Flower Team under the leadership of Carol Steward has had two new members join to strengthen the group recently. The Brass team have also attracted two new members to keep the brass looking beautiful. Pictured is Pam Stewart who leads the Brass Team. Chris Philpott leads the Linen team and is responsible for the purificators, altar linen and frontals.

Ann Masters leads the Silver Team which is not only responsible for cleaning and polishing the communion vessels but also setting up communion each week with the burse, veil and other items. We especially thank Toni Hill and Jan Webley who have stepped down from the Silver Team recently after many decades of service.

Thanks also to Greg Brown who orders and looks after the candles and James Harwood who is responsible for fitting the candles.

If anyone would like to join any of these teams, please contact the office. Thanks so very much for this important ministry.
