Family First: Nadia Roberts

Nadia Roberts —

Nadia and her family have been coming to St Barnabas for the past 5 years. They feel blessed by our St Barnabas family but how blessed are we to have them amongst us in our various groups and spaces!

"The St Barnabas Hall is important to the community because it holds Playgroup, Mainly Music, Fridayzone, Youth group, Messy Church and Lifestreams. These are a few events that include our Tamariki. These events are also opportunities to meet new people in the community and form new friendships. These Hall events are also the reason I am where I am today.

We have been a part of the space for 5 years. Many of my friendships I have now were formed in this very Hall.

For the Hall I envision a multi-space; storage for each of the events; a quiet space; a warm and kind space.

Through use of the Hall, I would like to see more outreach to the community. Let us get our word into the community more about the services we offer.

My fondest memory of the Hall is the first time we attended Fridayzone - back in June 2016. My husband was still in a coma from a very serious accident. I was a very broken mum and wife with two young girls 9 and 2 that at the time didn't know if dad would ever be coming home. Angela welcomed us with her open arms and held me until I stopped crying. I will never forget our first Fridayzone. The Hall is the centre-piece of this event."
