Advent Bible Studies on Hope
Advent is a time of preparation, expectation and hope. Find below a study resource to use during the four weeks of Advent.
We’re grateful to Anne Shave who has accessed some excellent Bible Studies she is going to use with her home group during Advent. These are written by John Birch, a Methodist local preacher from South Wales and known to many for his thoughtful prayers on the faithandworship website and Facebook pages.
We have paid for a parish license so if you would like to have your own copy of the printed booklet, please contact Marion at the parish office. A koha for photocopying would be appreciated as the booklet has beautiful artworks too.
If you’d prefer an e-version by pdf, please contact jenny@stbarnabas.org.nz.
‘Christian hope does not mean living in the clouds, dreaming of a better life. It leads us to discover seeds of a ‘new world’ already present today, because of the identity of our God, because of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This hope is a source of energy to live differently, not according to the values of a society based on the thirst for possession and competition.’ Taizé.
