Whizzing Around the World at the Quiz & Auction Night!

Jo Cotton —

The Fendall Hall was packed, IQ's were tested, and the world's Continents along with fun and laughter were the theme of the night.

Quiz Master Nigel Yeoh was, as always outstanding in leading the teams through the questions. Instead of the normal quiz topics such as Literature, Science & Nature, and History, the questions were about the Continents of the World.  There were 16 teams who all seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The French Sticks came out on top with the highest score of 76 and only 26 points between the winning and not so winning teams! A big thanks to the youth who came and helped out on the night. What a great bunch of young people they are! They were very easy to work with and helped make my job much easier.

The youth were very excited and amazed at how much money was raised just in the auction! Overall we expect to raise $6000 for the St Barnabas Youth Ministry, some of which will be used for the upcoming Easter Camp.

Friday night's quiz was a buzz with energy, multiple generations, and a strong sense of community. It gave me a chance to invite nonchurch friends and enjoy a great evening all together. Becky George
Quiz nights at St. Barnabas are definitely a highlight on the social calendar! Our night this time around was especially "Magnifique" as our French-themed team took out top honours. Merci to the organisers, especially Jo Cotton, the top-talent quiz master Nigel Yeoh and our amazing youth for putting on another showstopper!  Vanessa Mander

I won the peace lily after winning the heads or tails challenge against Andrew Butcher, and also movie vouchers as I was sitting on a lucky chair. I thought the room was buzzing and my team had lots of laughs throughout the night. Braden Ramsell

It was an Awesome evening of fun for all ages. We loved having our grandkids with us who also enjoyed the evening. Thanks Jo, Nigel, and Youth team for a wonderful Quiz night. Wayne & Diana Hann

Also thanks to Corinne Haines and Wendy Kington for putting together the snack platters, Nigel Yeoh for being the Quiz Master, Anna & Lucy Webster from Antioch for obtaining prizes and auction items, and the Youth Group for their enthusiasm and help. Also a big thanks to the parishioners who donated auction items and prizes, as well as all the businesses who kindly donated goods.

A big thanks to everyone who came along and supported the youth.
