Being Jesus' Helping Hands In The Community

Maggie Paton —

St Barnabas is hosting a volunteer morning for the local Christchurch community on Saturday 21 August - we have lots of jobs but need more helpers - can you contribute?

'Helping Hands' is all about linking up those who need some practical help around their house or garden with those who can offer their time or skills to support others. So you're invited to either request to have help at your home or volunteer to help.

Requests may include spring cleaning, gardening, dog walking, mending, basic IT assistance, cooking and perhaps ending with a cuppa together back at St. Barnabas!

Volunteers will be in pairs for a maximum of 2 hours. Volunteers will meet at the St Barnabas Hall at 9.30am, aim to arrive to start their tasks around 10am. All volunteers will meet back at the parish hall afterwards for lunch.

How do you get involved? Please register in the following ways if you either want help or want to offer help:

  • Phone St Barnabas (03) 351 7064, Lynn Kim (027 326 3522), or Maggie Paton (022 010 2251).
  • Fill in a clipboard with signup sheets after Sunday services.
  • Sign up online here

Koha for the City Mission appreciated.
