Lent Groups begin Feb 2021 - 'Rebuilding Ancient Ruins'

Mark Chamberlain —

What new world might we see when we listen for God’s invitation to rebuild the ruins? Join us for Lent 2021 as we look at the ruins in our lives, our Church, and our world – and seek God’s direction as we rebuild what has been destroyed.

The 2021 Lenten Studies will be available soon and all parishioners are invited to join a Lent Group from mid February to nurture faith in God and grow in grace. This is a collaboration between Christchurch and Wellington Dioceses so we look forward to a fresh approach.

Bishop Peter invites us all to participate in Lent studies next year and writes...

There will be a 2021 Lenten Studies and it is looking very good...The title is "Rebuilding the Ancient Ruins: Through Lent with the Prophets." Contributors include Bishop Ellie Sanderson, Wellington and Jay Ruka, Co-Dean of Taranaki Cathedral. What new world might we see when we listen for God’s invitation to rebuild the ruins? Join with others in study group for Lent 2021 and look at the ruins in our lives, our Church, and our world—and seek God’s direction as we rebuild what has been destroyed.

The parish has made a bulk order of study booklets and you will be able to pick up and pay for one at the Parish Office. Each participant will need a booklet. Information about how to join a group will be published in the next few weeks.

The Lent series is for six weeks and runs from mid February to the end of March. The beginning of Lent is marked by Ash Wednesday which falls on 17 February. Easter Day falls on 4 April.
