2020-21 Off-season U16-18 player weights programme

Mr. Mark Ealey —

Mark Vanner introduces the programme

The St Bede's College Rugby Club will be running an off-season conditioning program over the summer months for boys who are U16-U18 in 2021. The Club has once again contracted Mark Vanner to provide Strength and Conditioning support to the Club's players through to the start of the 2021 season. The off-season programme is primarily about training for U16-U18 boys to be better players, who are fitter and well-prepared to play rugby no matter what their current level.

Boys have been been invited to participate and from those who have advised us that they want to sign up, we have arranged them into initial groups based on their school year, training age and development needs. This is to maximise Mark's skills and expertise as trainer, to have manageable groups and to build on our learnings from our off-season programmes from the last few summers. All U16-18 rugby boys will have the chance to be placed into monitored training group sessions that primarily run at the College gym in the early morning Mon-Wed-Fri.

Please come along to our information session on Monday, 19th October 2020 at 3:30pm in the PAC and we will run through the planned Summer Programme in detail. Thanks

PS: The weights room has just been given 300kgs of extra weights plates by the Rugby Committee and two new assault bikes by the PE Dept.
