Cricket

Cricket Players Welcome

If you are interested in giving cricket a go this coming term now is the time to sign up if you are not currently placed in one of the College teams.  To sign up talk to Clare Kissick or email the St Bede's College Cricket Co-ordinator: coordinator.stbedescricket.sch@gmail.com 

Cricket Pre-Season Training

Last Saturday morning 60 players turned up for the indoor training programme at Lincoln University.  If you are interested in coming along this Saturday check out the programme and times at  https://sites.google.com/site/stbedescricketchch/announcements   Remember this programme is tailored to all player’s needs.  If you need a ride out you should also email St Bede's College Cricket Co-ordinator coordinator.stbedescricket.sch@gmail.com by 6pm on Friday.

School Sport Canterbury Champion Badges

Congratulations to Tom Moulai, Cameron Bartlett, Max Christian and James McCrea who received a School Sport Canterbury Champion Badge for winning the Senior Boy’s Cross Country Race as a team.

Henry Burrell, Gavin Jackson, Andy Dalkie and Angus Parkyn also received one for winning the Boys Snowboard team’s race.  Well done boys a great effort.

Small Bore Shooting

Congratulations to Sam Kershaw, Henry Quirke and Cameron Hortin who came 12th out of 25 teams in Target Shooting New Zealand Team Challenge. Sam Kershaw top scored for the team, he was 23rd out of 110 shooters. The winning score was 570.16 and we scored 540.15.

In the Rest grade the team finished 14 out of 38 teams with Liam Buckley top scorer for the team.

The same boys are attending the New Zealand Secondary Schools Shooting Tournament in Blenheim in the holiday and we wish them all the very best of luck.

Surf Life Saving

Congratulations to Seb Johnson who has been selected in the New Zealand Junior Black Fins (only South Island Member) and has just finished competing in the World Championships in the Netherlands where he was placed 1st (Gold Medal) Team Tube rescue 2nd (Silver Medal) team Taplin and 2nd (Silver Medal) team Beach Relay which is a fantastic effort by Seb and his team.

Skiing – Freeride

Elliot Robinson is competing at the National Junior Freeride Ski Competition at Mt Ruapehu, this week where he will obtain a National ranking and an opportunity to compete overseas.  Elliot also competed in the New Zealand Junior Ski/Snowboard Nationals at Cardrona in October, and we wish him all the very best for both of these events.

Football

Josh Crook, John Gerber, Daniel Pace, Malachi Tamepo and Ben Whiting have been selected in the North Canterbruy Under 15 Football team to play in the South Island Tournament in the holidays and we wish them well.
