Mr Justin Boyle —

Greetings from St Bede’s College.

The cold, wet weather has reminded us that winter has not quite finished!

The countdown has begun for the opening of the Chapel next Thursday. Naylor Love and all the people responsible for the project have done a great job in getting the building completed for the opening.

The twelve restored stain glass windows from the old chapel have been installed and they look stunning. The organ and the pews from other demolished Catholic churches in Christchurch, are being installed to sensitively integrate these historic core features into the new facility.

We have invited all of the 400 donors of the Chapel to the ceremony next Thursday and with the capacity of the Chapel numbering 300, we plan to film and live-stream the ceremony in the atrium of the newly refurbished Performing Arts Centre (PAC), which is adjacent to the Chapel, should we not be able to fit everyone in!

Seven teams have played in various winter tournaments around the country this week, and a summary of results are included in the newsletter. The cold, wet weather has reminded us that winter has not quite finished!

Until next week,

J.G. Boyle
