Tournament Week

There are seven teams taking part in Winter Tournament week this year.

• Rugby – 15A team is travelling to Wellington
  
• Football – 1st XI will be in Palmerston North
  
• Football – 2nd XI playing in Christchurch in a National 3-tier tournament
  
• Hockey – 1st XI taking part in the Rankin Cup in Hamilton
  
• Hockey – 2nd XI taking part in the Coaches Cup in Oamaru
  
• Basketball Senior A travelling to Dunedin for SISS tournament
  
• Basketball Junior are playing in Ashburton
  

A big thank you to parents who are coaching and managing teams next week, we really appreciate your help and support so the boys can play in these tournaments.

Basketball Friday Night

Congratulations to Year 13 Black, Year 11 Black and Year 9A who all won their finals last Friday night.

Thank you to all parents that acted as team managers throughout the season and again these teams would not be able to play without your support.

Cricket

Pre-season cricket training programme gets underway for all players who have registered to attend. It is at the indoor cricket facility at Lincoln University.

There has been a high level of interest in this programme and we have big numbers attending. To help with the smooth running please be there in plenty of time and ready to start your scheduled session. Check out the email you will have received from our Cricket Co-ordinator for more details.

The sessions will run over the next 4 Saturdays starting this week, 2nd September.

Time Slots:

8.30am-10.00am 9White, 9Red & 9Black

9.30-11.00am 10Red, 10Black & 9A

10.30am-12.00pm Colts, 3rds & 4ths

11.30-1pm 2nds & 1sts

New Players - If you are currently not playing cricket but wish to play in term 4, now is the time to sign up.

Rowing

If your son would like to row this year, there will be Erg (rowing machine) sessions at the College 3pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For new comers this allows some techniques to be improved before they hit the water. 

The next “Have a Row Day” will be held on Sunday, 10 September at Stewart’s Gully.

Tennis

Waimairi Tennis Club

Interclub registrations are being taken at present - any enquiries can be made at; admin@wtc.co.nz or they can have a look at the website www.wtc.co.nz and a registration link is on the front page.

Interclub registrations are open now and we need them in as soon as possible, as first games commence in the last weekend of the school holidays. We have a few boarders that play for Waimairi and they welcome all St Bede's College students.
