As many who knew Gary will know, throughout his life Gary was an avid collector of ties. He would often give them as gifts and had an extensive collection of ties collected over his lifetime. Back in March, Gary donated over 70 ties from his collection to the College, which are now being carefully stored in the College Archive. The ties include several St Bede’s ties including Old Boys and Jubilee ties. The collection also includes ties from various rugby and cricket clubs throughout New Zealand, Australia, the U.K, and beyond with connections to the College through the various tours and are a testament to Gary’s involvement in sport at St Bede’s. Also included in the collection are ties from various tournaments Gary was involved in throughout his coaching career. The ties now hold a special place in the College Archive.
